Loofco Loofah Cleaning Pad

Most sponges are made of polyester or nylon, which are synthetic products, not to mention the plastic packaging they come in! This all means that these sponges shed microfibres when they are washed and won't break down when they are thrown away.

This plastic-free cleaning pad is hand-made from layers of natural loofah plant, stitched together for extra scrubbing power and is 100% biodegradable.

When immersed in water it will swell up and become a spongy, flexible yet robust pad that will not scratch. It is ideal for cleaning surfaces, chopping boards, baths, sinks, tiles & taps. It will last for months with normal use and when worn out can be composted.

It measures 10cm x 10cm approx but as it is made of a natural product sizes can differ slightly. Has a convenient cotton string loop.

How to use

Use with warm water and cleaning product. To keep loofah fresh between uses, rinse & squeeze out excess water and hang to dry from the cotton string loop.

Occasionally wash in the washing machine or by hand if desired.

LoofCo farming practices are sustainable and to the highest environmental standards. Coconut and Loofah are both renewable raw materials that absorb CO2 when growing. Furthermore, we use coconut fibres and husks that are left over from coconut food and oil production which would otherwise be wasted or burnt. All elements of LoofCo products are 100% compostable and biodegradable, except the metal core of the brushes which is recyclable. Our cardboard packaging is recyclable.
